The advantage of the LE6940 is unmatched. The LE6940 displays fresh ingenuity with Mil-Spec hammer and trigger pivot pins, a Mil-Spec backup iron sight and a folding front sight for enhanced optical solutions, a straight gas tube and a removable lower rail which provides modularity for under mounting accessories. The patented one-piece monolithic upper receiver incorporates a continuous Mil-Spec rail from the rear of the upper receiver to the front sight. This feature affords unmatched repeatability for mounting optical systems, not found with separate handguard rail systems. Designed with accuracy in mind, its true free-floating barrel provides the enhanced accuracy necessary for long-range acquisition capability.

Before the manufacturing procedures begin, all raw materials are inspected by Colt's in-house metrology department to verify the materials meet military and Colt specifications. This ensures the proper materials are being used.

The AR-15/M4 Law Enforcement weapons are made to military standards concurrently with U.S. military contract weapons.

Every bolt and barrel is subjected to a 70,000-psi proof cartridge and then magnetic particle inspected to validate no stress fractures in the material as per mil-std. Every bolt and barrel is stamped to indicate completion of the test after the component passes as per military standards.

Every rifle is subjected to 357 separate gauges during the manufacturing process not including visual and function testing.

Every rifle is test fired to ensure proper function and targeted to ensure accuracy is within specification.

All pertinent parts come from the same bins during assembly as the U.S. military weapons.

All parts are interchangeable as per military specification.

Law Enforcement weapons incorporate all improvements made to U.S. military weapons.

Barrel, bolt carrier and bolt steel are closely monitored against Colt specifications to ensure reliability and longevity of the components.

Receivers and front sight base forgings are mil-std.

The anodizing process of the receivers is the same as U.S. military weapons.

The phosphate process on all steel components is the same as the U.S. military weapons.

Identical parts are subjected to a U.S. Government monitored 6,000 round endurance test, interchangeability tests and cyclic rate of fire test several times per month (per U.S. Government lot).

All materials are certified to composition and source.

Colt weapons are designed as military grade weapons, combat reliable weapons with a proven record on the battlefield and on the streets with law enforcement and tactical teams all over the globe.
